Pin back pendant badge for the RBNA featuring the cross with central crown and cornered Rose,Thistle,Shamrock and Leek.The suspension bar bears the motto Steadfast and True. The rear bears the members name Mary Cormach and number 1344 .This lady(correctly recorded as Mary Cormack) is recorded in the RBNA Directory as being registered 18th July 1890 having gained her certificate at the Dudley Guest Hospital 1885-86.
The RBNA was the main body organising the fight for state registration of Nurses,led by Ethel Bedford Fenwick. These early membership badges were the voluntary precursor of the Later General Nursing Council Badges.Height 45mm
