Territorial Force Nursing Service,assorted insignia.

A number of items relating to the British Army Territorial Force Nursing Service.Founded in 1908 to supplement the existing military services, nurses with more than three years experience could volunteer to man emergency hospitals in the event of war.Nearly 3000 nurses were available to serve in 1914 and by the end of the war over 8000 nurses had served in the TFNS.
The items consist of two patterns of Tippet badge consisting of the intertwined AAs of Queen Alexandra below an Imperial Crown. The first model without the scroll was in use from 1908 until just after the War. The addition of the scroll bearing Fortitudio Mea Deus was a short lived interim pattern prior to the change of name to Territorial Army Nursing Service in 1921 and quite scarce. Both are silver although not marked as such.
Also included are the rare TF round badge and a collar tab and cap insignia for the TFNS. A pair of rare white metal T Badges,as were worn at the corners of the tippet are also included.too pictures of the insignia being worn complete the lot. An interesting lot with several rarities.
