Royal College of Nursing Silver dress badge 1946 -1963

A silver gilt and enamel members badge for the Royal College of Nursing.This pattern features the coat of arms granted to the college in 1946 and in use until 1963 when the wording was changed to reflect its amalgamation with the National Council of Nurses.
The crest has a shield with a sun topped by stars ,denoting the 24 hour nature of Nursing.This is topped by open book and lamp denoting Learning and beneath which is the motto Tradimus Lampada-we pass on the torch.Condition is good with pin clasp and safety roller catch present but slightly loose.
