Burdett's Hospitals Annual 1889,First Year original volume

An extremely rare original copy of Burdett's Hospital Annual for it's first year published in 1889. It was to become the standard work of reference for Hospitals and institutions across the British Isles for nearly 100 years, detailing expenditure, bed numbers and personnel.The Editor Sir Henry Burdett was key in the development of Hospital statistics and cost, often coming into conflict with the professional Nursing groups of the day including Elizabeth Bedford Fenwick.
This volume of 428 pages lists the hospitals of the time with numbers of staff and details such as expenditure and beds.
Of great interest to researchers this copy is in very good condition but the binding appears to have been repaired.Stamped inside with the Authors Compliments .
