Miss Storers Nursing Association,Birmingham. Silver Nurses Badge

An ornate silver gilt and enamel nurses badge from Miss Storer's Nursing Association. This was originally Miss Storer's Nurses Co-operation and was ,I believe, founded in the late 19th Century.It is shown by the 1930s as being Miss Storer's Nursing Home and Nurses Co-operation, based at Homeleigh 9 Church road Edgbaston. This lovely badge consists of an enamelled Greek cross with a central boss bearing the crest of Birmingham,This is suspended on a hinge fixing from an enamelled bow shaped pin bar with Miss Storer's Nursing Association.Very Good condition with only minor enamel nibble to the top of the Birmingham boss. pin is missing, clasp intact.Silver hallmarks for JAR Birmingham 1929.Height 54mm
