A brass and enamel badge for the Incorporated Society of Trained Masseuses.Founded in 1894 and incorporated in 1900,the organisation went on to become the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
The lozenge shape badge features the initials ISTM within a blue enamel border bearing the organisation title and the dates 1894 and 1900.Below this is a red ribbon with the motto Digna Sequens- Following Worthy Things
Condition is good but with only minor surface scratches .Pin is intact.Makers mark for Barnard Rd No.655845 Engraved 1601 Isabelle Tinkler .This is Isabelle Tinkler of Whitington Road ,Whalley Range Manchester who shows as having gained her certificate in Medical Electricity in JSeptember 1918. A scarce early physiotherapy badge rarely seen nowadays.Height 40mm
