Victoria Infirmary/ Royal Hospital For Sick Children Glasgow, Silver Nursing Badge Pair
A pair of silver nursing badges awarded to the same nurse for her training in Glasgow in the 1970s. The first is a silver and enamel "Puma" nurses badge from the Glasgow Victoria Infirmary.It's two piece composite design features the Puma ( taken from a moulding on the external wall of the Hospital) on a Scottish saltire cross, within a band containing the hospital name.The condition of the enamel is fair but with enamel chips around the rim,as pictured.Pin and clasp are damaged but intact ,but safety catch is missing
Named for Judith C Brown ,Edinburgh hallmarks for K&S and year letter 1968.Height 33mm.
The second is a Silver and enamel badge for The Royal Hospital for Sick Children Glasgow.This version with blue enamel is for a staff nurse .Featuring the Madonna and Child in relief.
The badge is in good condition with pin and clasp intact.There is very minor surface wearing one small ding to the edge.Named for J C Brown RGN 1971-73 .Hallmarked silver for Birmingham 1969 makers Thomas Fattorini. Height 32mm
