Silver (Aladdin's) Lamp of Learning

A lovely solid silver Aladdin style lamp,also known as the Lamp of Learning. A smaller version of the type of Lamp used in the annual Florence Nightingale Commemoration Service at Westminster Abbey.In America many schools hold a Lamp Of Learning ceremony and small china versions are given as graduation gifts.This one has a handle in the form of a snake, an emblem of healthcare
The lamp itself is 135mm long and 75mm high and weighs 84gms. It has a removable finial and could have oil and a wick added to take a flame if required. The item carries an Egyptian Hallmark ,but I am unable to read the year symbol.Very good condition
