A scarce Silver and enamel badge for St Lawrence Hospital Caterham Surrey. the octagonal badge features a central image of the saint holding a gridiron engulfed in flamed(signifying the manner of his martyrdom)
Originally one of the Metropolitan Asylums Board Mental Asylums it finally closed in 1994.
The badge is in good overall condition barring some loss to the plated finish with pin clasp and safety roller catch all intact. Silver hallmarks for TF Birmingham 1967
