Prussian Red Cross Medal,Second Class,pre WW1

Instituted in 1898, the Prussian Red Cross Service medal was awarded in three grades.This second class medal features a red enamelled Geneva Cross with Prussian crowns to each arm .the initials WR and AV are for Kaiser Willhelm and Augusta Victoria.This example is silver plated although later wartime issues were often steel or Zinc plated. Good overall condition, suspension ring bent and missing ribbon.
