Canadian Red Cross Hospital,Taplow Buckinghamshire
A popular badge for the Canadian Red Cross Hospital in Buckinghamshire. It was originally set up in 1914 on part of the Cliveden estate, as a military Hospital and was used again as such during the Second World War, managed by the Canadian RCS.It was gifted to the government in 1947 as used as a civilian hospital specialising in Maternity and Juvenile arthritis cases. it closed in 1985 and is now a private housing development.
The oval badge features a central Red Geneva Cross with a Canadian Maple leaf. small Red Cross emblems are to either side. Good overall condition but missing its pin .Makers mark for Pinches London
