Hensol Castle ,Silver Learning Disability Nurses badge

A scarce Nurses badge for Learning Disability training at Hensol Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales.
The castle was bought in 1926 and opened in 1930 for ,what were then referred to as, Mental Defectives.It expanded to take over 800 patients before its eventual closure in 2003.It was bought and now operates as a Wedding Venue.
The badge is silver and enamel and features a central red Welsh dragon with a diagonal white crossing,in the quarters are Leeks and Daffodils, again symbolising Wales.Condition is good although pin is rather bent.Named to J Rees 1948.Silver hallmarks for TF Birmingham 1960, which mean the badge must have been awarded for retrospective training prior to a badge being issued?
