Another unusual item from my collection ,being one of the original bronze dies for the casting of the Famous Nightingale nursing badges.The two sided disk features the front and reverse of the eight pointed star badge, complete with herring bone stripes to the arms.

Unusually the face is engraved to the recipient M Russell Nov 1 1921 to Nov 1 1924,Rear is engraved with a laurel wreathe and hallmarked for 1920 with manufacturers mark for Vaughton & Son.
