Originally opened in 1932 as a colony for Mental Defectives at the Botley Park Estate near Chertsey in Surrey,part of the site served as an Emergency Hospital during WW2. The Mansion house ,which features on the badge,was used as Nursing and patient accommodation( the hospital finally closed in 1997 and the house is now a luxury wedding venue!)
